高千穂峡は、宮崎県西臼杵郡高千穂町にある峡谷。
国の名勝、天然記念物に指定されています。
高さ80〜100mに達する断崖が7km続き、これを総称して高千穂峡と呼びます。
真名井の滝は、高千穂峡の川幅が狭まった部分に流れ落ちる滝で日本の滝百選の一つ。
真名井の滝の付近は峡谷に沿って遊歩道が整備され、高千穂神社まで歩いていくことができます。

Takachiho Gorge is located in Takachiho Town, Nishi-usuki-gun, Miyazaki Prefecture.
It is designated as a national scenic beauty spot and a natural monument.
The cliffs, reaching 80 to 100 meters in height, extend for 7 km and are collectively called Takachiho Gorge.
Manai Falls is one of the top 100 waterfalls in Japan, which flows down into the narrow part of Takachiho Gorge.
A promenade is maintained along the gorge near Manai Falls, and visitors can walk to Takachiho Shrine.
